Specification method

A custom transformer request should describe the duty, interfaces and acceptance criteria

“Custom” should not mean undefined. A useful transformer brief starts with the application and load profile, then records capacity, voltage ratio, frequency, phases, vector group, impedance, tap range and cooling expectations.

Site data matters just as much as electrical data. Ambient temperature, altitude, indoor or outdoor location, noise, corrosion, seismic conditions, access and transport constraints can change the final configuration.

The last layer is project control: governing standard, routine and additional tests, drawing approval stages, certificates, manuals, quantity, destination and schedule. The configurator organizes these inputs and opens a structured email request for review by the TZN engineering team.

What information is essential for a first review?

Application, capacity, primary and secondary voltage, frequency, installation conditions, destination and governing standard are the minimum useful inputs.

Can TZN recommend the cooling class?

The engineering team can review ONAN, ONAF or another arrangement after losses, ambient conditions, loading and reliability requirements are known.

Should winding material be specified?

If copper or aluminium is mandatory, state it. Otherwise the offer should clearly identify the proposed winding material and the applicable guarantees.

Can IEC and ANSI/IEEE requirements be compared?

Yes. The exact standards and project amendments should be listed so technical differences and deviations can be reviewed.

How is the completed request sent?
